Raksmey Chen-Lee Ek, age 52, passed away on January 31, 2021. He was born in Cambodia on November 8, 1968 to Po Ek and Saron Phouk.
Raksmey Ek came to the United States as a refugee from Cambodia when he was 17 years old. He was the only male in his immediate family to have survived the genocide.
Once he was here in the USA, instead of having fun like teenager would do, he knew that his family back in Cambodia needed his financial support. He started working hard and slowly but surely made his way into advancing on his martial arts and learning the art of making donuts. He would always wake up happy because he knew that with his work he would provide not only for his immediate AND extended family; but, he would also put a smile of his customers faces when they ate his donuts. He had always worked and now sadly, whether he wanted or not, it is now time to rest.
Raksmey is going to be terribly missed by his 8 children: Siv-Long, Siv-Fong, Siv-Fhey, Siv-Mey, Siv-Tang, Siv-Hung, Siv-LeiHu and Siv-Xing; his mom, which to him was a god, Saron Phouk; his sisters: Sarany, Sitha and Bopha; his wife of almost 20 years, Martha Mendez and many extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on February 9, 2021 beginning at Noon with a service to follow at 1:00 pm at Allen Family Funeral Options located at 2112 W. Spring Creek Parkway Plano, Texas 75023.
