Priscilla (Anastasiu) Nicoara was born on April 14, 1950, in Bucharest Romania to parents Aurel and Elena Anastasiu. She had no siblings, was raised orthodox, and her parents both passed before she was 16 years old.
Priscilla was a hard worker and met her husband Adrian at the workplace in 1970. She was intrigued at why he was not smoking and drinking like their colleagues, and a friendship began. Adrian was raised in a Christian home, and he led her to Christ without being a Christian himself. Her decision to follow Christ convicted him to commit his life to Christ as well. They both were baptized in May 1975, and also engaged to be married, but had to postpone marriage for almost three years as Adrian had escaped to the United States and worked to bring her to him. They were finally married on January 8, 1977, and nine months later, their daughter Pamela was born. Needless to say, they were very happy to be together. Their son Bruce was born 2 years later.
After working together at the same engineering firm for some time and resisting any inclination to return to Romania for any reason, Priscilla could not resist God’s calling to devote her life to missions and became a full-time missionary in 2000. Ever since, both she and Adrian have worked together tirelessly to serve and share with anyone and everyone. Priscilla and Adrian returned from their last mission trip together in September. The trip was taxiing, and mom was very tired, and noticed a lump in her belly. She was diagnosed with complex liver cancer on October 6th. Even in these last few weeks while in and out of hospitals, she and Adrian would take every opportunity to witness to anyone was caring for them about Christ.
Priscilla was taken to heaven on November 5th. Adrian, Pamela and Bruce rejoice that her body is whole, and her struggle is over, but an enormous hole is left behind that will only be filled when they can be with her again in heaven.
Priscilla is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Adrian Nicoara; daughter Pamela Nicoara and her husband Jan Verschuren; son Bruce Nicoara and his wife Dana; grandchildren Ryder, Kade and Gemma Nicoara. She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Priscilla's life at 12:00 noon, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W Park Blvd, Plano, Texas. Officiated by Neal Jeffrey.
Priscilla was laid to rest at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
