Phillip Miles Pegues passed away at the age of 61 on May 5, 2024. He was born in Cleburne, Texas on May 11, 1962.
Phillip has had several careers, but for the past 35 years, he has been a hair colorist to multitudes of women in Dallas. The time spent in Phillip’s chair was special to all his clients. He was a sounding board for frustrations, anxieties, as well as joys. He was a great listener, always supportive, and always offered a shoulder to cry on in addition to the nearby bowl of miniature Hershey bars. He has heard so many life stories; he could have earned a degree in clinical psychology. At the very least, he should have written a book which would have become a major motion picture. In his 30-year career Phillip met many friends and families. He cried with us and laughed with us and touched so many of us, so very deeply.
He was an avid news junkie and a great social advocate, making daily calls to local and national politicians to be sure his voice and that of many others was heard. He was a wonderful chef, with a creative knack in the kitchen; we will miss his holiday treats. He was a wonderful son and a beloved partner.
Phillip had a wonderful laugh and a wonderful spirit and lived life to the fullest. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
We love you, Phillip.
He is survived by his partner of 20 Years, Albert Hinojosa; his loving parents Phyllis and Paul Pegues; brother Patrick and wife Cathi; and their children Ryan Miles and Katelyn Alexis Pegues; cousins Cathy and Cindy Pegues; and not to be forgotten, his devoted dog Lola.
Private services were held by the family.
If desired, contributions may be made in Phillip’s name to the charity of your choice.
