Philip "Pj" James Baker

April 7, 1982 — February 18, 2022

Philip James Baker, or PJ as everyone knew him, was born on April 7, 1982, in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Phil and Melody (Casteka) Baker. He was born on the same day as his grandmother, Sammye Baker's 50th birthday and she always said he was the best 50th birthday present.

He moved to Denton, Texas at age 5 and lived there until he met his girlfriend/wife/soulmate, Lindsey (Perry) Baker in 2009 and they moved to Dallas, Texas. After their marriage in 2013 they moved to Plano, Texas. They loved to laugh, play games, and spoil their dogs, Brody, a Leopard Catahoula and Mocha, a dachshund mix (and Snickers, also a dachshund, who passed away in 2021).

PJ was just 39 years old and passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack.

He loved music and was an amazing musician. He played drums, guitar, bass, piano, and several other instruments. He made a hobby of composing his own songs and produced an album of his friend’s band as well.

PJ was the life of the party and full of ideas. He was also incredibly kind and funny. He even gave his father-in-law, Gregory Perry, a foot massage while he was suffering from pancreatic cancer, joking that he would only do such a thing for him during that time.

He was a proud uncle to Aubrey and Joey and loved them both to pieces.

PJ is survived by his sister Rebekah Baker-White and his mother, Melody Baker as well as his extended family and an abundance of friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

We will all miss him more than words can say.

The family would like to invite friends and family to an Afternoon of Remembrance on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Allen Family Funeral Options with an informal time to share memories at 3:00 pm.
