Philip Bailey

Philip Bailey, of Plano, beloved son of Luke and Kathleen Bailey, and much loved brother of Christopher Bailey, passed away on December 9.

Philip was extremely intelligent and articulate, played music beautifully, and had a surprisingly encyclopedic knowledge of many subjects. Throughout his life, he never lacked friends.

Those who knew Philip well knew his gentleness and kindness. Philip could not pass a stray dog or cat without attempting to rescue them. In some instances, when their owners could not be identified or a no-kill shelter could not be found to take them, he took them in himself. His dogs Red, a shepherd-coyote mix, and Mama, a pit-lab mix, both beautiful, strong, and spirited dogs, were the product of such rescues and became his devoted and loving companions.

Philip took pride in his work and was well-liked by his coworkers. He will be remembered fondly and sorely missed by all who knew him and is mourned greatly by those who loved him.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Allen Family Funeral Options.
