Clifford Paul Hughes was born to Clifford and Norma Hughes in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 19, 1951.
He grew up in Tulsa until he was 15 years old when he, his mom, and his sister moved to Texas. Once there he attended Brewer High School until his family moved to Grapevine, where he graduated high school in 1969.
Paul joined the United States Air Force in 1970. He was soon stationed in Southeast Asia. He did his surgical work in Camron Bay, Vietnam.
He always had a passion for motorcycles and while stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, he was a medical specialist and proud member of the Clark Ridge Riders Cycle Team. After completion of his service in the U.S. Air Force in 1976, Sergeant Hughes returned to his family in Texas to become a licensed Physician's Assistant.
He was always an explorer and adventurer. Over 30 years of his adult life was spent in Colorado and on America's West Coast. He ran rapids on the Columbia River and loved Colorado and its Rocky Mountains. California's San Luis Reservoir and O'Neill Forebay was the chosen home for Paul's love and passion for windsurfing. He asked that we celebrate those memories for him.
Paul's last decades were enjoyed back in Texas, where he returned to not only his birth family, but became a member of his forever family, marrying Rhonda K. Alexander in 2020 all while embracing the addition of children and much-loved grandchildren. He was active in Plano and in veterans' organizations. During this time, he gave and received love in abundance.
Clifford Paul Hughes left peacefully on his final journey, August 26, 2024, from his home in Plano, Texas.
