Paul D'Aloisio

June 23, 1952 — April 19, 2022

Paul Anthony D’Aloisio, 69, passed from the loving arms of his family into a celebration in heaven on April 19, 2022 following a heart attack.  His devotion to and love of his family and passion for his profession guided his journey in this lifetime and served as a great source of pride and satisfaction.

Paul was born to the late Felice D’Aloisio and Paolina Antoinetta Cappella D’Aloisio, immigrants from Italy, in Rochester, New York on June 23, 1952.  He attended Catholic schools there and was active in sports.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania: his Juris Doctor from State University of New York in Buffalo, New York; and his Master of Laws in Government Procurement from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  Paul also held a Professional Engineer’s license and was admitted to the bar in Washington D.C., Massachusetts, Washington State, and Texas.

Paul enjoyed writing and authored many articles on physical fitness in his early years.  His law publications included Accusations of Criminal Conduct by Government Contractors and Design Responsibility of Government Contractors. Paul also lectured about various construction, government procurement and bond claims issues at the Southwest Transit Association, Dallas Bar Association, Construction Law Section, and the King County Bar Association.

Paul was blessed with a loving family.  He married Leanne Smith in Dallas, Texas at Walnut Hill United Methodist Church on July 20, 1996.  They were married for 25 years.  In 1997, Paul and Leanne welcomed their first son, Anthony Ryan D’Aloisio, into this world.  In 1999, Greyson Christopher D’Aloisio made his entrance.  The D’Aloisio family made Valley Ranch, Texas and then Frisco, Texas their home.

Paul balanced his work as Sr. Assistant General Counsel at DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) and participation in team building activities there with support of  and involvement with his family and community.  He loved working on projects and assignments with his sons and helped coach their various sports teams.   He faithfully attended football, baseball, and hockey games as well as wrestling matches, science fairs and a variety of other events – enthusiastically cheering on his boys.  He loved the outdoors and especially going with his family to visit Leanne’s parents at Lake Cypress Springs.

After his retirement in November, 2020, Paul was enjoying encouraging Anthony at the University of Southern Maine, Greyson at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Leanne at 29 Acres.  He was a very proud father and husband.  Paul was passionate about everything in which he was involved.  The things listed here only scratch the surface.  His legacy resides in his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  We celebrate that he is at home and at peace with his Creator.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Felice and Antoinetta D’Aloisio; in-laws, Gene and Virginia Smith; and brothers-in-law, Peter Flowers and Tom Smith. Paul is survived by his wife, Leanne and sons, Anthony and Greyson; sisters, Mary Flowers and Carmela D’Aloisio and husband Bob Daniels; sister-in-law, Melissa Smith; brother-in-law, Tim Smith and wife Linda; sister-in-law Lori Whittaker and husband Ken; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas on Saturday, June 11 th at 1:00 PM officiated by Pastor Robert Matthews.  If you wish to join the service by webcast, please visit: Paul Anthony D'Aloisio (funeralvue.com)
