Patsy Mc Elroy

Patsy (Murray) Mc Elroy was born September 20, 1931, in Galveston, Texas.  She passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the age of 91.

She was a gracious and loving woman who prized family, home, and friendship above all else. Patsy was a fourth generation Texan who received her education in Houston at Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Lanier Junior High, Lamar High School and Rice University.

In 1952, Pat married the love of her life, Jay McElroy, and together they raised their three wonderful children in Bellaire, Texas.  Pat considered these children, her six beautiful grandchildren, and her nine great-grandchildren as the greatest achievement of her life.  She and Jay enjoyed sailing, gardening, and their homes in Galveston and the mountains of northern New Mexico.  They traveled widely and were blessed with a very happy and fulfilling life together.

Later in life, Pat and Jay moved to Dallas to be near their family.  They enjoyed living in an independent living apartment at the Legacy at Willow Bend where they met many kind and wonderful friends.

Pat is survived by children Jay McElroy, Jr and his wife, Kelley, Allison Parks and her husband, Bob, Stacy Light and her husband Tom; grandchildren Lauren McElroy Shanon McElroy and her husband, Matt Seil, Stephanie Parks and her husband, Will, Michelle Parks, Raine Light, Erin Light and her husband Ulysse, and nine beautiful great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jay, in 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Legacy at Willow Bend with Pastor Kim Meyers officiating.  The family would like to thank the staff at the Legacy at Willow Bend and the devoted caregivers at Legacy at Home for their compassion and dedication to our mother.
