March 25, 1945 — October 12, 2021

Patricia Aileen Trapp, 76, of McKinney went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 12, 2021. She was born on March 25, 1945, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to parents Col. Ralph Wesley and Hazel (Withrow) Gontrum. Pat, being an “army brat” frequently moved and lived in many interesting places as a child, including Japan.  Pat married Bart Milton Trapp on April 21, 1967, in Gainesville, Florida where they met as students at the University of Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and was a teacher in her early years before leaving the profession to raise her family. Shortly after relocating to Plano, Texas she began working at Fellowship Bible Church North (later becoming Chase Oaks Church) where she worked for more than 30 years before retiring in 2018. Pat enjoyed traveling the world and visited more than 35 countries over the course of her travels on all 7 continents.

Photography was another enormous passion. It brought her much joy to take pictures of her family and friends, and the places she traveled. She became very skillful at taking pictures, the art of scrapbooking and collecting antique cameras. In addition, she enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, and sharing time with family and friends.

Surviving Pat is her husband of 54 years, Bart M. Trapp of McKinney; daughter, Jonna (Ric) Figurell of Frisco, Texas; sons, Bart P. of Mt. Prospect, Illinois and Kevin (Allison) of El Dorado Hills, California and her brother, Lou of Longs, South Carolina. She also leaves behind 8 adoring grandchildren including Josh, Jacob, Zachary, Jared, Ricky, Gina, Nicholas and Adele. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph (Papasan) and Hazel (Bunny) of Lexington, Virginia.
