Pamela Anne Love Taylor was born May 5, 1947, in Danbury, Connecticut. As the first child of Sol and Betty Anne (Esch) Love, Pam learned to love family, faith, music, family history, and spoiling her dogs. Before Pam’s first birthday, the family moved to Dallas, Texas, where her two sisters, Debbie and Missy, and her brother, Mike, were born. She grew up singing in the concert choir, attending church, and enjoying trips across the country to connect with family. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin.
She married Ed Taylor in 1968, with whom she shared two sons, Dave and Rob. Pam spent her professional life in Information Technology, working at Texas Instruments, as well as other companies. As an adult, she spent time in Hawaii, Colorado, Missouri, and Nebraska, before she returned to settle in Texas in 1980. She died at her home in Plano on January 31, 2022.
Pam held a lifelong focus on learning, with a special interest in technology. While working and raising her sons, she completed her education, graduating from Amberton University with a degree in Human Relations and Business. Her children remember her as a hard-working single mother who encouraged them to work and learn. They would often hear her playing the piano or singing after their bedtime. Through the years, she loved her dogs Peanut, Brownie, DeeDee, Ginger, and Honey. She liked to tell people that each of her dogs “adopted her.” Debbie says of her big sister, “We were roommates until she left for college. We shared everything from laughing and crying to marriage and children.” Her youngest sister, Missy, remembers, “Pam was always with me during the toughest times of my life. She comforted me, prayed with me, held me, and walked with me on as much of my journey as she could. She was also the repository of so many memories that I did not have, and I loved that she could help me remember. We were very close.” Her brother, Mike, recalls her as a partner-in-crime as well as a musician: “I remember her singing Ave Maria at the piano. I can never hear Ave Maria without the emotions of hearing her voice.” Pam spent many years in church service and had a great love for Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her sons and their families, David, Angel and their son, Bradley Taylor, and Robert, Kristen, Zoe, Elliot, Sydney, and Kate Taylor; as well as her siblings and spouses, Richard and Deborah Love Bowen, Melissa Love Blackburn, and Michael and Susan Love.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2401 Legacy Drive, Plano, Texas 75023, with an interment following at Restland Memorial Park, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, Texas.
