Oylune Chun

1946 - 2019

Oylune Chun, who was born in India to Chinese parents some seventy years ago, grew up in an ever-expanding family—eight siblings and an equal number of “adopted” children.  She grew up in a loving environment with plenty of playmates making her gregarious, fun-loving, caring and creative. This carried over to her adult life and with her talent in art she made teaching young children arts and crafts in Calcutta International School her career choice.  Her appreciation of “all things beautiful” spurred her onto learning jewelry making and taking on the challenges of the fine art of Cloisonné.

Her interests were varied and not restricted to jewelry making. Her family, friends and pets were the beneficiaries of her craft work and her love for food.  She spent hours experimenting with various cuisines and enjoyed seeing people satiating themselves with her cooking. Of all her many interests, shopping and travel were on the top of her list. She never resisted a good outing, shopping trip or a meal.  Especially if it involved her nieces, nephews and relatives. If you were quick of eye, you could catch a glimpse of her throughout the US, Canada, China, India and Europe.  Here motto was: Have companion will shop and travel! Now she can roam the universe with no restrictions!!!

There will be a visitation from 1:00 - 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
