Omana John Koshy was born on November 11, 1957, in Kuwait City, Kuwait, to her beloved parents, John Mathew (Chelanilkunnathil) and Aleyamma John. She spent her childhood and early years in Chengannur, Kerala, India, along with brother, John Bunyan. Omana pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from NSS College Pandalam, in Kerala, India.
Omana met the love of her life, John C. Koshy, in Kuwait City, Kuwait in 1982. They were united in marriage on March 28, 1983, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted more than four decades. Together, they built a life grounded in love, resilience, and dedication to family.
In June 1995, Omana moved with her family to Toronto, Canada, where she became deeply involved in her church and community. She faithfully served in the Agincourt Church choir and participated in the church’s annual Easter productions, sharing her warm spirit and vocal gifts. She continued her professional journey in Canada, studying Nursing at George Brown College in Toronto. As a nurse, Omana worked at Shepard Village, Runneymede Healthcare, and Sunnybrook Hospital.
Omana relocated to Dallas, Texas, in July 2005 with her family and has called McKinney, Texas, her home for the past 11 years. She embraced her new community with grace and continued to pour love into her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Omana is deeply cherished by her husband, John C. Koshy, and their children, Ben Koshy and Bernice Koshy. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Sherrin (Ben), and son-in-law, William (Bernice). Omana’s greatest joy was her grandchildren—Ethan Samuel, Emily Samuel, Mia Koshy, and Luca Koshy, whom she adored and who brought immense light into her life.
Omana will be remembered for her amazing sense of humor, beautiful laugh, kindness, her compassion, her gentle strength, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in her family, her community, and in the many lives she touched throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate Omana’s life at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
