It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Marie Armstrong, who departed this world on September 1, 2024, at the age of 94. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Norma was a pillar of strength, kindness, and wisdom to all who knew her.
Norma was born to Charles and Clara Pritz on March 12, 1930. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her warmth and generosity.
Norma's professional life was marked by her dedication and hard work. She was once a proud co-owner of Armstrong Lindsey Water Conditioning, and later, she continued her career with Computer Associates, where she worked diligently until her retirement in her 70s. Norma spent her final years at Remarkable Nursing Home, where she was a treasured resident. Her warmth, kindness, and strength of spirit made her beloved by both her peers and the staff.
Norma's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and community. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, her infectious smile, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and cared for. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Remarkable Nursing Home for their compassion and care during Norma’s time there. Despite the challenges she faced, Norma remained a resilient and loving presence in the lives of her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Clare Marie Murphy of Raleigh, North Carolina, Clayton Briggs of Coralville, Iowa, Kathy Armstrong of Allen, Texas, Julie Nazworth and her husband Deon of The Colony, Texas. Norma’s legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren; Alan and Heike Murphy, Christina and Conley Rolling, Celina Palmer-Ruliffson and Jon Ruliffson, Jonathan and Elaine Murphy, David and Raquel Murphy, Ty and Breanne Briggs, Dana Thornburg, Michael and Kristi Corey, Ashlee and Kelly McCormick, and Mackenzie Nazworth.
Norma’s joy and love extended to her great-grandchildren: Shawn-Michael and Ashley Murphy, Megan and Tyler Heetland, Rebekah and Travis Larson, Sarah Rolling, Madalyn Rolling, Isaiah Palmer, Christian and Michaella Palmer, Scott Ruliffson, Kayla Ruliffson, Meagan Ruliffson, Jacob Murphy, Gabriel Murphy, Ava Murphy, Emma Murphy, Dominic Murphy, Siena Murphy, Rhienna Reginio Pascual, Dirk Reginio Pascual, Declan Murphy, Adalynn Briggs, Penelope Briggs, Easton Thornburg, Jace Thornburg, Gage Corey, Casen Corey, and Kyler McCormick. She also leaves behind her great-great-grandchildren: Harper Heetland, Huxley Heetland, and Ezra Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Steven Armstrong, her great-grandson Michael Ÿorg Murphy, John Briggs, and Paul Armstrong.
There will be an hour of visitation from 10-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, where family and friends can gather to honor and remember her incredible journey. Following the visitation there will be a celebration of Norma’s life at 11:00 a.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options, officiated by Pastor Robert Matthews.
