Nicole Danielle Howell-Smith

March 7, 1978 — November 5, 2020

It is with broken hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved daughter, Nicole, on November 5, 2020 at 3:11 PM.
Nicole was born in March of 1978 in Rochester New York to Craig and Carolyn Smith. During her early years in New York, her grandma, Elizabeth Howell was her loving day care. She built a special bond with Nicole and helped a very young couple who were just starting out. Grandma Howell had nine children, but always considered Nicole to be her tenth.
She was then blessed with a baby sister, Stephanie Lynne in February 1981. Although they were typical sisters with the usual ups and downs, they always loved and supported each other. They were great buddies. One of our favorite memories was catching them on video to lip-syncing to Madonna songs on the front lawn. They both played soccer and cheered each other on from the sidelines. Even during the toughest times, they were always there for each other.
In July 1981, with the encouragement and support of her paternal grandparents Bob and Doreen Smith, Nicole's family moved to Texas. Being the first grand (and a girl!), her grandma Doreen loved to buy her dresses, take pictures, and generally relish in all the grandma fun! Her grandpa Bob loved her dearly and unconditionally. She was his joy.
Nicole attended elementary, middle and high school in The Colony, Texas. After attending The Colony High School, Nicole joined the entertainers of Scarborough Fair and traveled around the country with the troupe for 2 years. She really enjoyed that time of her life and the experience of meeting new people.
She met her lifetime love, Dale Lamb, 20 years ago.  They had common interest of NASCAR (Dale Jr.), music (Dale plays guitar), camping, fishing and good food. Nicole worked in food services and was an excellent server, hostess and bookkeeper. She was a perfect fit for the service industry, as she loved to take care of everyone around her.
In 2013, Nicole and Dale were blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Elizabeth Nicole, now age 7. Throughout Elizabeth's life, Nicole was a devoted and loving mother. While Elizabeth is a special needs child, a challenge for any parent, Nicole always handled her with the utmost patience, care and love. Elizabeth was her world. We are so very blessed that the gentle nature that Nicole embodied lives in Elizabeth.  She is a bright, shining light for us all.
Nicole possessed the kindest, gentlest, most loving heart. And she shared her heart with everyone she met. We know that she is in God's loving embrace, and she is finally at peace. She will be dearly missed.
