Nicholas (Nick) Panchuk

December 8, 1929 — September 29, 2019

Nicholas (Nick) Panchuk promised to love his wife Dorothy (Dotty) 'forever and ever' in his marriage vows. After a lengthy and noble battle with Alzheimer's disease, he passed away after 45 years of marriage on September 29, 2019, with his beloved wife Dotty and their children by his side.

Born to Maria and John Panchuk in Canada on December 8, 1929, Nick began his life on a picturesque farm. Decades later, he would regale his children with stories of his childhood farm life, remembering those days fondly as life in God's country. It's also the place where Nick forged a strong eternal bond with his brother and buddy-for-life, George Panchuk, who preceded him in death.

With the ability to speak four languages, an infectious smile and a drive to serve others, Nick rose through the ranks of Greyhound, becoming Director of National Safety and Training.

Later in his career, he forged lifelong friendships while holding leadership positions within Trailways, DART and TCT Transit.

Whether caring for his wife and children or driving miles to help a friend, there was no drive too long or commitment too strong for Nick when it came to faith, family and friends.

A devoted attendee of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, his faith in God and love for his family is the eternal anchor tying him to this earth. It's an anchor he left for his loved ones to hold onto when we forget how much he loved us and how confident he was in the belief that "God works all things for the good of those who love him."

The Panchuk family wishes to give special thanks to lifelong friend Elena Niemeyer for her love and support.

The family also recognizes and sends its blessings and thanks for the loving care given to Nick by Maria Alvarado and Beldina Mamou Nandwa and the staff from Hope Hospice: Melinda, Diane, Julie, Lisa.

He leaves behind wife, Dotty Panchuk; and four children, Kerri Ann Panchuk, Todd Hugh Panchuk, John Panchuk and Lynn Panchuk Price. He also is survived and honored by sister-in-law’s, Lavina Panchuk (wife of brother George Panchuk), Jeanne Carney Nickerson, Lois Kerrigan Carney, June Capece and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas with Rev Sinu Joseph, officiating. There will be a reception to follow the service in the Parrish Hall.
