Nicholas "Nick" Andrew Sides

Nicholas “Nick” Andrew Sides passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2024, at home in Carrollton, Texas.

Nick was born June 19,1993 in Dallas, Texas to Denise Irwin and Darien Sides. After his parents divorced, he spent most of his childhood in Lexington, Kentucky and also spent lots of quality time with family in the Dallas, Texas area. When Nick was 8 years old, he was thrilled to become big brother to Riley.  Nick and Riley always had a special relationship.

In 2011, Nick graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky. His youthful interests growing up included playing sports, with a passion for baseball, paintball, cars and motorcycles.

Nick studied at Bluegrass Community and Technical school.  He then learned the flooring trade. He worked for Blankenship Concrete Polishing LLC where he took pride in helping to create many beautiful floors. In more recent years, his big heart and compassion for others led him to the insurance industry. He obtained his Property and Casualty Life and Annuities for retirement planning license as well as his Accident and Health Insurance license.   He was employed at Liberty Mutual.

While learning about the insurance industry, he met Arianna (Ari). They married in February 2021. In December 2021, Ari and Nick gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Sophie. Nick loved his little girl and being a father to her. Although his marriage didn’t work out, Sophie was the brightest spark in Nick’s life.  He was a very proud father.

Nick had a radiant smile and beauty that captured the hearts of everyone he met. He had enormous hopes and dreams that were unfortunately and sadly cut too short.

Nick is survived by his daughter Sophie, his mother Denise, his father Darien Sides and stepmother Sarah; brothers Riley, Macs and Ti; sisters Lydia (Victor) and Tessa; uncles David (Fran), Wayne (Angelica); aunts Kris (Lisa), Laurene; cousin Samantha (David); nieces Kendall, Emma, Winnie Mae and Sylvie; grandmother Gail (Larry).

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2024, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
