Nancy Hart Todd, 84, was born on February 26, 1939, and was called home to Jesus on February 25, 2024.
She was born in Floydada, Texas to Cecil and Juanita Hart, where she was the oldest of three daughters. Nancy grew up in Amarillo, where she was a cheerleader at Amarillo High School. She attended Texas Tech University where she proudly pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. It was the summer after her freshman year when she met the love of her life, Gordon Ray Todd.
Nancy and Gordon were married for 65 years and had two daughters, Tracy Todd Winters and Alicia Todd Long. The Todd family lived in Amarillo before settling in Dallas in 1968.
Nancy was involved in Kappa Kappa Gamma Dallas Alumni Association, Bridge/Lunch Friends, Bent Tree Tennis Club, and the Republican Women’s Club, where she hosted the annual kick-off luncheon for years. Gordon and Nancy served as young married department heads for 20 years at First Baptist Dallas and have been members of Prestonwood Church since its early beginnings.
Nancy supported the growth of Gordon’s business, Todd & Hughes, Inc., and later Gordon Todd Builders, Inc. where she assisted in designing and event planning for the company. Friends and family will remember Nancy’s devotion to her family and the Lord, her words of wisdom and especially her feistiness. She was an avid card player and was known for her competitiveness among her family and friends. Nancy was an incredible wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Gordan Ray Todd, and their daughters/sons-in-law, Tracy and Bruce Winters and Alicia and Joe Long, all of Dallas. She is also survived by (all of Dallas) Grandchildren Ashley Winters, Hannah Winters, Amanda Long, and Jessica Long Brown and her husband Brian, Great Grandchildren Nevaeh, Legend and Treasure Winters, Sisters Linda Hagebusch and her husband Carl of Plano, Texas and Suzanne Hart East and her husband Bob of Amarillo, Texas, Sister-in-Law Norma Todd Lockett of Red Oak, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews who meant the world to her.
The family would like to thank the unbelievable care Nancy received from her sweet caregivers, her doctors over the years, and the Hospice nurses/staff.
A celebration of life service, followed by a reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in the Faith Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, Texas 75093.
