Nancy F. O’Leary passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2021 at the age of 97. She is now resting in the loving arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Nancy was born on February 16, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. She was one of nine children born to Sophie (nee Homantowska) and Gustav Heller. Nancy married the love of her life, Mortimer J. O’Leary Jr. on September 20, 1946. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2002. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A homemaker, she dedicated her life to providing a loving and nurturing home for her family. Her family always came first.
A lifelong Catholic, she was devoted to the Blessed Mother and was an example of Christian living for all who new her. A first generation American, she loved this country and the freedoms for which it stands. Nancy’s warm and outgoing personality allowed her to make friends easily. She was active for many years in Red Hatters, Newcomers Club, Girl Scouts, Marian Helpers, SAMNA and the Alta Sierra Country Club. Her hobbies included golf, bowling, gardening, and bridge.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy E. Sisler (the late Richard) and Erin M. Nieves (Mark); her grandchildren, Christopher Sisler, Mary Sisler, Amy Sisler Oden, Matthew Nieves, Milo Nieves and Molly Nieves Keliipuleole; her great grandchildren, Cassidy Sisler, Skyler Sisler, Judd Keliipuleole, Finn Keliipuleole and many nieces and nephews.
Her three infant children, Kathleen, Michael and Mortimer, preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, Texas on February 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Father Bruce Bradley as Celebrant. The mass will be broadcast live at : https://youtu.be/HjxQJHpcI0U
A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Beaverton, Oregon on February 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Inurnment will be later this year in Grass Valley, California.
