Nancy Hughes

Nancy Marie (Farley) Hughes age 75 of The Colony, Texas passed away on May 4, 2025, in Plano, Texas. She was born in Biddeford, Maine to Richard and Cecile Farley on April 27, 1950.

She went to high school at Biddeford High School and graduated in1968. She met her husband William (Bill) Hughes in 1971 while he was serving in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Kittery, Maine. They married in Biddeford, Maine in1972 and moved to Two Rivers, Wisconsin in1973.

In 1979 Bill and Nancy moved to The Colony, Texas where they raised three children.

Nancy enjoyed bowling, pickle ball, cruises and vacations in Wisconsin and Maine. She especially enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren.

Nancy was a 45-year Colony resident and very active in The Colony Senior Center and the senior charitable association. She served on the association Board for several years and was an active volunteer at bingo and other events.

Nancy is survived by her husband, William, of The Colony; daughter Erin Hughes and fiancée Douglas Cowsert of The Colony; daughter Stephanie and husband Christopher Steele of Bryan, Texas; son Nicholas and wife Lori Hughes of The Colony; grandchildren Lincoln Hughes, Lauren Tanner and Blake Tanner of The Colony, Conor Steele and Tucker Steele of Bryan; sister Patricia and husband James Osten of Holliston, Massachusetts and brother John Farley of Scarborough, Maine; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
