Minerva Sheets

Minerva Ramos Sheets passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 50.

Minerva was born on October 15, 1974, in Tarlac City, Philippines, to Constancia Ramos and Crescencio Ramos. From a young age, she was an avid reader, a passion that eventually led her to pursue a degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies at Tarlac State University. She began her career as a private school teacher for several years and as a Language Teacher in China, before returning to the Philippines to teach high school history. In 2009, she met her husband, Stephen Sheets, and they married later that same year. In 2012, Minerva and her daughter immigrated to the United States to begin a new chapter in their lives.

Minerva’s passion for teaching continued. She taught Early Childhood Education at Merryhill Preschool in Plano and Crème de la Crème Preschool in Allen while pursuing her master’s degree in education at the University of North Texas. In 2020, she joined J.L. Long Middle School in Dallas as a SPED Inclusion Teacher, later continuing her career at Roach Middle School in Frisco. Through her dedication, she left a lasting impact on countless students.

Minerva was more than a mother—she was the pillar of her family. She tirelessly supported her daughter throughout her education, encouraging her to pursue her dreams. She was always ready to lend a helping hand where she was needed and assisted her family in the Philippines in any way she could. She found joy in beadwork, creating intricate jewelry and sculptures from beads and wire, which she lovingly gifted to friends and family.

Minerva is survived by her husband, Stephen Sheets; her daughter, Jireh Lagman; her siblings, Deo Ramos, Raquel Ramos-Ursua, Percival Ramos, and Alma Ramos, along with their children; her mother-in-law, Faye Sheets; her siblings-in-law, Lowell Sheets and his wife Susan Sheets, Debbie Bores and her husband Craig Bores, Mike Sheets and his wife Stacy Sheets, and Christy Sheets, along with their children. To know Minerva was to feel her warmth, her strength, and her unwavering faith. She lived a full life and was dearly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
