Mike Budz

Michael Kenneth Budz was born January 7, 1966, in Evergreen Park, Illinois to parents Joseph and Bonnie (Lynch) Budz.

Mike was a caring, loving individual who radiated kindness and always sought to support his family and friends. To Mike, family extended beyond blood relations; he embraced anyone who needed his care and affection. He dedicated himself to a career in sales, thriving on travel, meeting new people, and achieving his goals. If he had an idea, he would make it a reality. Mike passed on his wisdom, love, and determination to his children and grandchildren. He was also deeply protective and loving toward his sister. Mike’s love was evident in the care and support he gave to his son Michael Jr., he consistently ensured that Michael was okay and always available when he needed him. After many attempts, Mike finally found his forever love in his wife Holly, who stood by him until his last breath. Together, they created a unique family dynamic with Denise Budz and Todd Muszanski, who provided unconditional and loving support for his children. This lasting bond and the family dynamic Mike established will continue to endure due to his success in nurturing these relationships.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Holly Budz; children Michael Budz, Jr., Marilyn Gustafik and her husband Robert, and Rachel Budz; grandchildren Ashlynn and Auston Gustafik; siblings Dawn Buchanan and her husband Dave and John Budz; former wife and lifelong friend Denise Budz and her companion Todd Muszandki and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be a service to celebrate Mike’s life at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Allen Family Funeral Options, officiated by Pastor Robert Matthews.  There will be a reception to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers Mike would like donations to be made to his son Michael’s special needs trust. The trust checks need to be written out to: Michael K. Budz Jr. SNT and mail to 1658 Roy Street, Joliet, Illinois 60433
