Michael J Daley

July 7, 1949 — July 17, 2021

Michael J. Daley, loving husband, and best friend of Joy, passed away in Plano, Texas on July 17, 2021, after a valiant 10-month battle with cancer. He remained optimistic he would win this fight until the end. He simply did not want to leave the full life he loved, despite his faith in God and belief in Heaven.

Mike was born July 7, 1949, in Springfield, Massachusetts, the only child of parents Michael Joseph Daley, Sr. and Olga (Shemet) Daley.

He spent his career at Ford Motor where he made lifelong friendships that endured through retirement.  Michael loved traveling the world with Joy, as much as he loved returning home where he spent time fishing in local ponds and gardening.

He enjoyed dining in great restaurants with stellar wine lists as well as cooking meals for guests and pairing wines from his own wine cellar.  He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams as well as the Georgetown Hoyas, his alma mater.

Michael was sentimental and generous, with a wicked sense of humor. Always a gentleman in life and in dress, he strived to make a positive difference.

A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, Texas. There will also be a committal service for the placement of Michael’s cremains at the Prince of Peace Columbarium Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. followed by a reception celebrating his well-lived life. Michael will be missed by many.

If desired, contributions may be made in Michael’s name to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, California 90266 or https://www.pancan.org
