Melissa Pence

Melissa Fay Pence, beloved mother of Lauren Devereaux, David Pence and Victoria Pence, was taken to her heavenly home November 22, 2022. She was born on December 24, 1967 in Midland, Texas to parents David Key Crews and Phyllis Jean Clement Crews.

Melissa was a light in the lives of many. Her sense of humor was her magic – making people laugh everywhere she went. She had an affinity for food & culinary arts and loved making memories in the kitchen with her family & friends.

Her most cherished role in life was being a mother. She loved Lauren, David, and Victoria more than life itself and she was their greatest cheerleader.

Melissa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2022. She never gave up hope and had the spirit of a fighter until the very end. She spent her last days surrounded by family and friends, making memories they will cherish forever. Throughout her battle, she never lost her light and continued to lift the spirits of those around her.

Melissa is survived by her mother Phyllis Jean Crews, daughter Lauren Elise Devereaux, son-in-law Andrew Michael Devereaux, son David Lewis Pence, daughter-in-law Lauren Brooke Pence, and daughter Victoria Hope Pence, sister Melinda Kay Hollie, brother-in-law Michael Hollie, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who are also mourning her loss.  She was preceded in death by her father, David Key Crews, her paternal grandparents, Juanita Key Pearson Crews, William O. Crews Sr. and her maternal grandparents Jessie Doyle Clement and Mamie Inez Campbell Clement.

There will be a celebration of life for Melissa on December 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel at Tate Farms in Rockwall Texas. Visitation to follow at the Devereaux household.
