Maxine Patton

March 8, 1930 — October 27, 2023

Mary “Maxine” Burrow Patton passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 27, 2023.

Maxine is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harlo James Patton and brother, Jack Burrow.  She is survived by her daughter, Janelle and son-in-law John Hufnagel, of Plano, Texas,  Grandchildren, Jennifer Hufnagel of Carrollton, Texas and Jonathan Hufnagel of Plano, as well as her very dear and loyal friend of many years, Fay Fuller of White Sulphur Springs, Montana and her sister-in-law, Alice Burrow of Ventura, California.

The oldest of three children, Maxine was born in Hancock Township, Illinois to Kenneth and Juanita Burrow.  She graduated high school in Golden, Illinois and received the high honor of being chosen by her senior class to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution award for the Golden community.  Following high school, she studied at the Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois.

Throughout most of her life, she lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma until moving with Harlo to Plano in 2012 to be close to family. Her years in Tulsa being a wife and mother led her to being active in church and social functions.  Both her and Harlo were charter members of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School.  She was an accomplished seamstress, a talent she passed along to Janelle.  Her grandchildren were the love of her life and both her and Grandpa enjoyed a number of family trips over the years to Florida’s Disney World.  Through the years, shopping with Jennifer was something both of them enjoyed, whether in Tulsa, or on trips to Dallas, shopping was always on the agenda.

Maxine was loved by many and will be deeply missed.  A private family graveside remembrance and burial will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband and veteran, Harlo.
