Matt Kelty

January 25, 1973 — March 8, 2021

Lift a solemn chant and joyful song in memory of the life of Matthew Thomas Kelty.

Matt was born January 25, 1973 in Sanger, California to parents Jack Thomas and Tina (Anderson) Kelty.

He was the beloved son of Tina and Jack, the loving stepson to Paul and Claudia, the attentive and faithful father to Gage, and our family’s laughing, Jokester Emeritus!

He moved later to live and grow up in the suburbs of Chicago.  All of his life Matt wanted to be a Texan like both of his Texas Patriot Grandfathers.  These men made deep impressions upon Matt, and the impressions had boots and spurs wrapped in Texas flags!

Matt graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Speech Communications. He loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors, especially in Texas.  He made the decision to relocate to Texas after he graduated from college, living out his Texas dream for 23 years in the Dallas, Texas area.

Matt loved life.  He loved his family and was a loyal friend.   “Matthew never met a stranger in his life” as quoted by his loving mother, Tina.  Matthew worked in Sales and is remembered by his famous words, “I have the best job in the world because I get to work with new friends every day!”

Matt taught those of us who knew and loved him about unconditional love.  He never said a bad word about anyone. He continually looked for the good in others!

He was a simple man, and he did not care about the material things of this world.  He cared about his son Gage.  He cared about his family.  He cared about all the people in his life whom he loved.

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12 Berean Bible

Matt professed his love of the Lord and found comfort in Him throughout the journey of his life.  We who loved him, can now sing a joyful song in his memory, because of his deep and abiding love, like our Savior, which he gave to all of us.

Rest easy dearest Matthew, in the fullness of heaven!  Revel in the love of your Texas grandparents who greet you now, with fragrant, yellow roses of Texas spilling over from their loving, outstretched arms!

Matt is survived by his loving son Gage Kelty (16); parents’ father and stepmom Jack and Claudia Kelty, mother and stepdad Tina and Paul Zientarski, brother Michael Kelty and his wife Candace, nephews Owen and Kyle Kelty, niece Mi Kayla Kelty, uncle and aunts Tim and Pat Anderson and Jann Sydney Hewitt and several loving cousins.
