Mary (Jean) Russell

Mary “Jean” (Shafer) Russell was born at home on October 9, 1934, in Melrose, New Mexico to parents Chalmers and Elga (Williams) Shafer. At age 87, Jean passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, in Richardson, Texas.

She married Robert E Russell on January 26th, 1952. Jean enjoyed holiday family get-togethers, bowling with her friends in her younger years and most of all spending quality time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her husband Robert E Russell; four children, Robert L Russell and his wife Ruth-Ann, Tanya Cook, Brent Russell and his wife Gena and Michael Russell and his wife Debbie; seven grandchildren, Brandi, Mary (Husband Geoff), Mitch (Wife Jessica), Amber, Brent (Wife Danielle), Simon and Evan; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jack, Luke, Zenaiah and Elizabeth; younger sister Elaine Burdine ( Husband David); many, many beloved nieces and nephews as well as other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elga Shafer and her older sister June Kerr.

An Evening of Remembrance will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 at Allen Family Funeral Options.
