Mary Marcella Cave, 82, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 8, 2022, at her home following a short-battle with cancer. Marcella was born on November 8, 1939, to Raymond Emmett Reubelt and Mary Marcella Klasinski in Leavenworth, Kansas.
After graduating from Harlingen High School in South Texas, Marcella went on to Seton Hall University to chase her passion of helping others graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Following college, she returned home to Harlingen, Texas, where she met the love of her life, William Edward Cave, Sr., and they married on June 20, 1964. Together, they had four children, William Edward Cave, Jr., Cheryl Lynn Cave, Michele Lynn Cave and Bryan Michael Cave. Along with being ‘the best Mom in the world’, Marcella had a successful career in nursing with Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, VNA, Aetna, Prudential and continued her nursing service after retiring as a school nurse with PISD.
Everyone who knew Marcella knew that she was an extremely kind, loving, resilient and giving person, and that she loved her family very much.
Marcella is survived by her loving, devoted and incredible husband, William, Sr.; son and daughter in law, William, Jr. and Nancy Cave of Irving, Texas; daughters, Cheryl of McKinney, Texas and Michele of Plano, Texas and son, Bryan of Los Angeles, California. She is also survived by her two younger sisters, Paula Greer of Garland, Texas and Cindy Rose of Pipe Creek, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Dani Hernandez, William ‘Tripp’ Cave III, Miana Rosario, Roman Cave, Noah Cowley, Yoelanni Hernandez and Amelia Hernandez.
Marcella will forever be in all of their hearts and missed each day. We know that she was proud of, and filled with pride for, each of them.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75023 with committal service to follow at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium. A reception will follow at the church.
