Mary Ann Falecki, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 96. Born in De Pere, Wisconsin, to William and Helen Allcox, she grew up alongside two sisters Ave (Dr. George) Daley, Helen (John) Bie and her brother Jack Allcox, all of whom have since passed. Mary Ann was the epitome of grace, elegance, and dignity, yet grounded in warmth and a down-to-earth upbringing.
Mary Ann married the love of her life, Dr. Julian W. Falecki M.D., with whom she shared an extraordinary bond for fifty-five years until his passing in 2008. Together, they raised five children-Barb (Bill) Newby, Steve (Maureen) Falecki, Susan (Jay) Vosburgh, Sara (Kevin) Hemenway and Debbie (Andy) Royston. Mary Ann imparted her strong value system of faith, family and love to her children. Her unwavering devotion to her family and the Catholic faith were the cornerstones of her life.
Later in life, Mary Ann went with Julian to Denver, Colorado, where he pursued his love of the mountains and skiing, continuing his medical career into his 80’s. After Julian’s passing, Mary Ann allocated her time in Elm Grove, WI (with daughter’s Barb and Debbie) and in Plano, Texas, with her daughter Susan and son-in-law Jay for the last 17 years. This chapter of her life was filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.
Mary Ann had a zest for life in her younger years that was expressed in painting for a professional studio. The artistic creativity carried over into the interior design of her home.
Her flower-filled balcony was admired by many in Genesee, Colorado.
She was also a fantastic cook, which was largely inherited from her mother Nellie.
Mary Ann enjoyed everything from providing extravagant holiday meals to the enjoyable everyday sit-down family dinners. Her warmth and class made her a cherished presence at every gathering. She was referred to as “the greatest mom in the world” even as she took her final breath.
Mary Ann’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren -Julia (David) Magnasco; Rebecca (Daniel) Fiorentino; Jacqueline (Michael) Klein; Mary (Liam) Santini, Patty Newby, McKayla and Kristen Falecki; Melissa, Jamie, and Russel Hemenway; Sydney and Daniel Royston; Jenna and Chloe Vosburgh. She also had six great grandchildren, who had the privilege of knowing her gentleness and kindness. Her love was generational, and she leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a reminder to always cherish the gift of life.
A private Catholic memorial mass will be held in Wisconsin.
