Marsha Myers Gaffney

November 14, 1937 — May 27, 2021

Marsha Myers Gaffney, 83, of Richardson Texas passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 27, 2021, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Fred and Corrine (Clemons) Myers in Dallas, Texas.  Marsha graduated from Highland Park High School in 1955.  She married her high school sweetheart James J. Gaffney in 1956 and after living in Austin and San Antonio they settled down together in Richardson for 59 years.

Marsha worked for the Richardson Independent School District where she touched the lives of many of the students.  After retirement, Marsha became an excellent and persuasive saleswoman for Eddie Bauer.  Marsha loved helping other people whether it was just being there as a trusted friend or putting together the perfect outfit, she could always make you feel better about yourself.  Marsha loved to travel, and she spent many years attending the University of Texas Longhorn football games and cheered for the Texas Rangers. But the center of her life was her family.   She never missed an opportunity to help them decorate their homes. Her happiest times were spent with all her family gathered for holidays or just casual dinners and a fun night of games.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Corrine Myers and her sister Mary.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Jim and his wife, Donna; daughter, Linda and her fiancé, Gene; beloved grandchildren, Jimmy, Ryan, Lauren and Tanner; and a host of lifelong friends.

In keeping with Marsha’s wishes there will be a small private memorial service.  Those who wish can celebrate Marsha’s life by making a memorial donation to The T. Boone Pickens Center for Hospice and Palliative Care at: https://www.forefrontliving.org/giving-opportunities/
