Marlin Henning, Ii

Marlin Harry Henning, II was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1932, to parents Merla Marguerite (Hartranft) and Marlin Harry Henning. He went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2024.

He married Charlotte Aileen Lemons on March 16, 1956, and in 2016 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Marlin’s caring, compassion and love will be greatly missed!

Marlin was a man of faith and an active member of Grace Presbyterian, for over 40 years, serving in various of roles such as Deacon. He had a passion for photography, especially capturing birds and nature, and enjoyed reading and traveling. Marlin was also a dedicated Mason of the Shekinah-Fernwood Lodge #246, in Philadelphia, where he served as Master in 1963 and remained active for over 60 years.  He graduated from Haverford High School in 1951 and was drafted by the Army in 1953, serving in Korea until 1955. After the war, he attended Pierce School of Business and graduated with a certificate in accounting in 1958. Marlin worked as a Risk Insurance Manager at I-T-E Circuit Breaker in Philadelphia, then at Keystone Steel & Wire, in Peoria, Illinois, starting in 1974. He finished his career working at Valhi, in Dallas, Texas and retired in 1997. To celebrate his retirement, he and Charlotte took the entire family to Disney World!

Marlin is survived by their three daughters; Rhonda (Steve), Victoria (Barry) and Dorothy (Douglas); seven grandchildren - Matthew (Elizabeth), Michael, David, Joseph, Olivia (McKendree), Hilary and Amy (Andy); and six great-grandchildren - Harrison, Jude, Eliza, Paxton, Theodore and Emory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2024, at Grace Presbyterian Church, 4300 West Park Blvd, Plano, Texas.  A reception at the church will immediately follow the service.

Marlin will be buried with military honors at a private service at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery prior to the Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church - Stephen Ministry.
