The family of Mark Allen Severson, age 62, is deeply saddened to announce his sudden and unexpected passing on April 1, 2021.
Mark was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 20, 1958. His father, Bud, was an Air Force officer who eventually settled down with his bride, Gerry, in Williamston, Michigan where Mark spent his childhood. He joined the high school golf team and was dedicated to this passion throughout his life.
After college, he followed his brother to Texas where he pursued his career in Information Technology. Mark did outstanding work in this field throughout his career where his skill and work ethic would make his father proud.
His first and only son Kenny arrived in June 1991. In November 1999, he welcomed Emily, his dearest daughter. He provided a stable, loving home for his children as his mother Gerry provided for him. His children were his number one priority in life.
Mark was an avid fisherman and enjoyed competing on the fairway. Whether playing cards with friends, cracking jokes at work, or grilling out for his family, he gave his whole self and made each and every person feel special. Wherever Mark travelled he made lifelong friends with his outrageous humor and comforting hugs.
His truest principle was family first. In remembrance, his life personified the beauty and complexity of an extraordinary man. He is missed and loved by many.
Mark is survived by his son, Kenny Severson; daughter, Emily Severson; siblings, Jim and wife Amy Severson, Kathy and husband Brad Cook and Tom and wife Julie Severson; mother, Gerry Severson and his five nieces and nephews, all of whom share classic memories of their hilarious uncle.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Bud Severson.
