Marjorie A. (Shaffer) Stormer was born June 4, 1928 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is with profound sadness, we announce that Marjorie, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on
Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2020 in Plano, Texas.
She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and married Hugh B. Stormer on November 24, 1949.
Mom will be remembered as being devoted to her family, as a caring and compassionate nurse and mentor, amazing baker, avid Heisey glass collector, a woman of wit, a friend who touched many lives, and a faithful servant of God. It is also important to note our numerous cousins who consider Aunt Margie, their second mom and favorite aunt.
She is survived by her seven children, David Stormer, Mary (Barry) Horek, Helen Regina Beebe, Cynthia Christenson, Natalie Stormer, Colleen (Doug) Barton, Andrew (Angela) Stormer, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, her brother, James Shaffer, sister-in-law Joan (Stormer) Gomez, and brother-in-law Fred (Rose) Stormer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh (1927-1989), five brothers, John, Paul, George, Ellis, and Donald Shaffer, sister-in-law Nancy (Stormer) Donahue, and daughter-in-law Michelle (Dedera) Stormer.
A Memorial Mass celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your charity of choice.
