Marisa Nicole Thome

Marisa “Reese” Thome of Plano, TX passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2020 at the age of 32.  Marisa had a big heart, a kind soul and will be greatly missed.

Marisa was born at the Incerlik Air Force Base in Turkey on May 9, 1987.  She graduated from Plano East High School and then completed training at the Denver Aveda Institute in 2008.  She operated her own aesthetician practice and salon in North Dallas.  Marisa first met her husband Mitchell Thome in high school and they enjoyed 9 years as a couple before joining in marriage on January 9, 2011.  On December 4, 2013 and January 4, 2018 respectively, they were blessed with two beautiful sons.

Marisa was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.  You were always greeted by Marisa with a sweet beautiful smile.  She was a loving mother to Cash and Cruz and enjoyed reading books with them and trips to the park to play.  Marisa loved animals and every living creature was a treasure to her.

Marisa is survived by her husband, Mitchell; their children, Cash Michael and Cruz Scott; parents, Carolyn and Robert Ferguson, of Colorado, and Stuart Chisholm, of Sweden; grandmother, Patsy Van Doren, of Colorado; siblings, Cyrus (Brooke) Ferguson, of New York, Shannon Dobyns, of Colorado, and Keenan Ferguson, of New York.  She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Van Doren and paternal grandparents, Patricia Luckinbill and Jerry Chisholm.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Due to ongoing restrictions related to the Covid-19 situation, attendance will be limited. For those unable to attend, the service will be broadcast live via weblink at the following web address:
