Maria Isela Larrazolo

March 27, 1943 — February 4, 2023

Maria Isela “Sally” (Provencio) Larrazolo was born March 27, 1943, in Chamberino, New Mexico and she departed this world on February 4, 2023, after a long battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

We will remember Sally for so many things.

Her strong love of God and the Virgin Mary, she kept her faith no matter how much she physically hurt.

She was a civil servant for many years and in that light, we will remember her as the trailblazer she was – one of the first three female firefighters at Fort Bliss/Biggs Field. She was very proud of having earned her turn outs.

We will remember her uncontrolled laughter when watching Saturday Night Live’s Rosanne Rosannadanna.

We will remember her dry wit. We will remember how stubborn she was, and her utter amazement that her children exhibit that very same trait. Even as stubborn as her children are, she loved them and was very proud of them all.

We will remember growing up with her wig collection, and her specially made shiny dress (she really did look great in it). She loved fashion trends and was beautiful enough to pull them off.

We will remember her love of music, ABBA, Blondie (especially Heart of Glass), Vincente Fernandez, Freddy Fender, especially Las Mañanitas. She also loved to dance to all that music.

We will remember that she was not perfect, but no matter what she always tried her best.

She is survived by her children Elaine Graskey, Roselle Graskey (Allison Mugnier), Michael Larrazolo (Crystal) and Bridget Stephens (Terry); 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; sisters Maria “Irene” Irene, Maria “Pilar” Pilar, Maria “Rosie”

Rosario; brothers Ramiro, Ramon and George; countless nephews and nieces. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents Ramon and Josefina Provencio, sisters Maria “Tommy” Tomasa and Maria “Terry” Teresa.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023, at Allen Family Funeral Options.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N Greenville Ave, Allen, Texas. If you wish to join the service via webcast, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/stjudesacraments

Maria will be laid to rest at Wylie Cemetery, Wylie Texas.

If desired, contributions may be made in Maria’s name to Meals on Wheels, as they were a very important resource during times when mom was not able to cook for herself. https://www.mealsonwheelscc.org/donate
