Maria Antonia Agostinelli of Plano, Texas passed away suddenly from a brief battle against cancer on March 10 th , 2022. Maria was born on December 16, 1964 in Providence, Rhode Island. She grew up in Providence before moving to New York City and Dallas, Texas to pursue a career in Human Resources and Recruiting. Maria excelled in school, a 1982 Classical High School graduate, Maria went on to graduate from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania where she became a life-long volunteer for the college in admissions and alumni affairs. She received a Master’s in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University in New York City.
She was a passionate lover of the arts, especially film and musical theatre and never missed a viewing of the Oscar or Tony Awards. As a teenager, Maria was a student in the Vocal Arts Program at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts, attending weekly studio classes and master classes with major artists and faculty residents visiting the Boston Symphony. She spoke of this time fondly and frequently. She was a voracious reader of books and truly enjoyed sharing her points of view on social media.
Maria was the loving wife of Denis Marusic, originally from Zadar, Croatia. She loved the time she spent visiting her husband’s family in his homeland. She was the doting, caring mother of Nicholas (Niko) Marusic of Plano, whom she adored with all her heart. She is also survived by her father Anthony J. Agostinelli of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, siblings Katherine (Kate) Spinella and husband Francis of Middletown, Rhode Island, Mark Agostinelli and his wife Debra Mason Agostinelli of Chatham New Jersey, and Matthew Agostinelli and his wife Carmen Chavez of San Diego, California. And she is also survived by four loving nieces and nephews Francesca Micheletti and her husband Anthony, Cecilia Spinella, Mason and William Agostinelli. Maria was pre-deceased by her adored mother Barbara (Plociennik) Agostinelli,
