Marcus Thierry was born on January 6, 1955, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to the union of Frank Obra Thierry and Bertha Mae Stephens Thierry. He transitioned to be with the lord on November 7, 2025, in Carrollton. Texas. at the age of 70.
On October 4, 1970, at the age of 15, Marcus was baptized at Greater Corinth Baptist Church in San Antonio under the pastoral leadership of the late B.T. Alexander. He loved the Lord and attended church faithfully for many years.
Due to his father's military service, Marcus' family moved frequently during his childhood, ultimately settling in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from East Central High School in 1973, where he played football and excelled as an athlete, earning All District, All City honors, including being named Defensive Player of the Week. He was also an A Honor RolI student. Gifted in electronics design and assembly, one of Marcus' proud achievements was building his own transistor radio.
Marcus later attended DeVry Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas. He worked for many years as a Journeyman Fire Sprinkler installer, a career he was dedicated to until his health no longer allowed him to continue.
Marcus was a vibrant and joyful soul who embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. His hobbies included watching football and basketball, barbecuing, beating others at dominoes and spades, socializing, and dancing. He especially loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. Marcus was truly a free spirit who loved life and the people around him.
Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha Thierry; his sister, Debra Thierry Shavers; niece Robin Pitre; nephews Michael Wayne Thierry, Jr. and Robert Pitre Jr.; and great-niece Mckenna Alexis Thierry.
He is survived by his brother Robert Pitre (Fredia); sister Janet Thierry Robinson (Paul); brother Michael Wayne Thierry (Sybil); nieces LaBrica Janese Stephens (Darnell); Amber Danielle Thierry, Ashley Dawn Thierry, Taylor Evette Shavers, and Tracy Barra; nephews Justin Pitre, Christopher Pitre, and John Paul Robinson; great-nephew Micah Thierry; and many beloved cousins.
Also mourning his loss are his special companion and friend, Doris, along with many cherished friends, including the caring staff of Madison on Marsh.
Marcus's life was a testimony of resilience, humor, love, and faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 13, 2025 at 3:00p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Tx.
