Louis Overbeck

Louis Overbeck, age 83, passed away peacefully September 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.  Louis was born on July 15, 1941, in Galveston, Texas to now deceased John and Ida Mae Overbeck. He was the youngest of 9 children.

He was a devoted Altar Boy and spent many hours serving at his home church, Sacred Heart.  He joined the Army at 19 and served 3 years active duty. Louis was very proud of his service to the country.

He married his sweetheart Linda the day after his discharge, and they raised 3 children, Larry, Julie and Thomas.  Louis loved spending time with his extended family.

His passion was old cars and motor scooters. He bought, sold and traded, repaired and painted many of them.  His dream car was a 56 Chevy that he completely restored.

Louis and Linda moved to Plano, Texas in 1998 to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Louis is survived by his wife of 61 years Linda Overbeck; sons Larry Overbeck and his wife Melissa, Thomas Overbeck and his wife Kristi; grandsons Josh Smithson, Liam Overbeck and Jaden Overbeck; granddaughter Destiny Overbeck; brother Robert Overbeck and 25 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son in law Julie and Chuck Smithson.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Bradley officiating.  There will be a reception following the mass.
