Lois Ann Quilici

Mar 28, 1952 — Aug 16, 2026

Richardson, Texas

Lois Ann Quilici, 74, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in her home in Richardson, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She lived a life devoted to caring for others in her family and the countless patients she looked after.

Lois was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on March 28, 1952, to Clarence and Evelyn Kalvelage. She spent her early years growing up with her older brother Larry in Norfolk, before her family made the big move to Simi Valley in southern California. She graduated from Royal High School and then St. Vincent’s College of Nursing in 1974.

While at St. Vincent's, mutual friends introduced her to a young student at Harvey Mudd College. While Tim Quilici was studying physics, and Lois nursing, they fell in love and married right after finishing their degrees on June 15, 1974. The happy couple moved to Houston for Tim’s grad school while Lois began her nursing career at Memorial Hospital to support the young couple. After Tim received his Master’s degree from Rice University, they moved north to Richardson.

Their first-born child Jason arrived in the summer of 1980, and two short years later Bryan was born to complete the family. As a registered nurse Lois spent her nights taking care of patients in the ICU and ER for more than twenty years. She would work overnight and be home to ensure the young boys were fed and off to school. After sleeping during the school day, she would always ensure a home cooked meal was provided for the ravenous appetites of the family. She eagerly regaled the family with hospital stories to scare her boys straight during dinner time. After the children were off to bed, she would prepare herself for her shift at the hospital to take care of others in need.

Lois was always up for a game of cards, and spades was her game of choice. As a couple with competitive friends, or with a family of four many nights were spent playing cards until others couldn’t keep their eyes open. This gave her the opportunity to have great fun, a glass of wine, and socialize with those she cared about.

Lois loved being “Grammy” and seeing her three grandsons grow up and become young men. She was always around to read bedtime stories, play games, and love on the three boys that would be the next generation of Quilici’s.

Lois led the care of her husband Tim while he battled with cancer, heart surgery, and pneumonia. They were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary together in 2024 before he passed away a few months later.

Lois is survived by her two sons Jason Quilici and his wife Megan and Bryan Quilici and his wife Sarah. Lois is also survived by her three grandsons Andrew, Luke, and Jacob as well as her brother Larry Kalvelage. She was preceded in death by her husband Tim and her parents Clarence and Evelyn Kalvelage.

The family will be hosting an afternoon of remembrance from 2-4:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options. If you would like to attend, we request you wear some blue in your outfit. Lois’s favorite color was turquoise and wouldn’t want an all-black and sad gathering while remembering the best times.

If you would like to make a donation to charity in lieu of sending flowers, Lois always supported Doctors without Borders and would love to keep caring for others.
