Lois Mae Pennington

September 16, 1927 — July 25, 2018

Lois Mae Pennington was born September 16, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away in Richardson, Texas on July 25, 2018, at the age of 90.  She was a caring, giving, and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Lois met the love of her life on a blind date.  When she opened the door to meet Bill for the first time, she couldn’t believe that incredible looking man was her date.  Lois and Bill married on November 12, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to Dallas in 1962. They also lived in Nacogdoches, Celina and Allen, Texas.  After Bill passed away, Lois moved to Richardson, Texas.
Lois worked for years at Xerox beginning as an assistant and moving into management before retiring.  She loved God and attended Church regularly.  Lois was an avid reader, loved to visit with family and friends and enjoyed spending time on craft projects with her grandchildren. She was a Dallas sports fan and enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and the Cowboys.  Lois had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on her face.  She had the gift of being able to remember the names of the people she met.
Lois was preceded in death by her mother, Miriam Morgan, father, Andrew Morgan, her husband William (Bill) Ray Pennington Jr. and son, Scott Pennington. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Patterson and husband, Eddie, daughter-in-law, Donna Ambrogio, Scott’s widow, remarried to Joe. Daughter Dana Stryhal and husband Bill and son Clay Pennington and wife Lisa.   Lois had ten grandchildren and loved spending individual time with each of them.  Mandy Haecker, Kyle Pennington, Emily Hood, Katie Pennington, Joseph Stryhal, Drake Stryhal, Chase Stryhal, Chelsea Hahn,  Chandler Pennington and Madison Pennington.  Lois also had four great-grandchildren that she loved hearing stories about, Lyla Pennington, Will Pennington, Caroline Haecker and James Haecker.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers who helped take care of Mom when she could no longer take care of herself. They are eternally grateful.
A celebration of life service will be at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 11 at 10:30 AM. The Church address is at 3101 Coit Road in Plano, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Stroke Association
