Lloyd Darton Blaylock, 81, passed away on July 11, 2017. He was a 4th generation Dallasite born on December 9, 1935, to Lloyd Blaylock and Mary Elizabeth Blaylock. Lloyd attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Irving High School in 1954. He graduated from SMU with a degree in Civil Engineering and was member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. Lloyd had a long and distinguished career in Construction and Real Estate Development in Dallas. He served as …President of the Dallas Chapter of the Association of General Contractors as well as Vice President of the Texas branch, President of the Dallas Mental Health Association, a Board Member of the Dallas Summer Musical, and a proud Life Member of the Salesmanship Club. Lloyd married Klarice “Tiny” Kuler in 1958 beginning their 58-year marriage in which together they built a family of 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Lloyd and Tiny loved to spend time and travel with friends and family from Cripple Creek, Colorado to China. Lloyd was happiest surrounded by people, and he has the greatest group of friends. He loved playing golf, hunting, Monday Night Football with his buddies, bus trips to Austin to watch the Mustangs and large family gatherings. These were Lloyd’s favorite times. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty McNally, brother Charles Blaylock, and sister in law Betty Sue Blaylock. He is survived by his beloved wife Tiny, children Kathryn Blaylock McCarron and husband Michael, Lloyd Gregg Blaylock and wife Alicia, David Darton Blaylock and wife Tonnya, Daniel Kuler Blaylock and wife Chandra. Grandchildren John Patrick McCarron, Kathryn Darton Evans and husband Todd, Klarice Prindle McCarron, Misty Blaylock Rountree and husband Trey, Grier Martin Blaylock, Darby Darton Blaylock, Lloyd Darton Blaylock II, David Luke Blaylock and wife Maxcey, Joshua Darton Blaylock and fiancée Caitlin, Hayden Rives Blaylock and six great grandchildren will also miss “Papa.” A memorial service will be held at NorthPark Presbyterian Church, Saturday, July 15th at 11:00am with Reverend Brent Barry officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mental Health America of Greater Dallas (mhadallas.org) or the Salesmanship Club of Dallas (scdallas.org). The family would like to thank the staff at the Highlands of Dallas for the loving care they gave Lloyd for the past three years.
