Linda Diane Van Pelt

January 14, 1948 — October 8, 2025

Frisco

Linda Diane Van Pelt was born January 14, 1948, in Bronx, New York to parents Albert Gallman, Jr. and Ada Edna (Peterman) Gallman.

Linda was a remarkable woman, a loving wife and mother, a proud and doting grandmother and a kind and generous soul. She was also the enthusiastic dog-mom of Noodle, Pepper, Jersey, Frisco and Samantha, who brought her much joy. Linda was the heart of our family. She was a giving person and a life-long learner who loved to stay busy and help people.

Linda brought all of that energy and passion to the field of nursing. She was already a mother of three when she received her associate’s degree in nursing in 1981. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Texas Women’s University in 1995; a Master of Liberal Arts from Southern Methodist University in 2001; and an MBA from Texas Women’s University in 2010, all the while raising her family and working as an emergency room, intensive care and cardiac care nurse. She was promoted to Director of Critical Care at Medical City Plano (MCP). During her time at MCP, Linda was honored as a Great 100 Nurse in the North Texas area. In 1998, Linda received the Agnes M. Hayes Award for Excellence in recognition of her performance, dedication, and community involvement. In 2005, Linda received a Community Service award which recognized her volunteer work organizing blood drives and working at an adult clinic in Plano where she performed exams and provided advice to people with no access to medical care. During the latter part of her career, Linda focused on End-of-Life Care. She started the Palliative Care program at Medical City Plano and later worked as a hospice nurse. She helped untold numbers of patients and their families navigate the end of life. One of her proudest moments at Medical City Plano was starting the Final Salute Program which honors veterans by draping them with an American flag during transport to the funeral vehicle. Doctors, hospital staff and volunteers would escort the body in a silent procession with the family.

Linda will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her family, friends and patients. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Jeremy (Jerry) Van Pelt; children Laura Jean Baughman, Richard Jeremy Van Pelt and Jill Christine Isenberg and her husband Joel; grandchildren Lily and Abigail Baughman, Alex and Emma Van Pelt, Daniel and Natalie Isenberg; sister Audrey Ada Dominguez and her husband Michael. Along with many adoring friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Albert Gallman.

There will be a funeral service to honor Linda at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service which begins at 2:00 p.m.

A reception will follow immediately after the service.
