Linda Stevens

April 1, 1959 — December 6, 2022

Linda Maguran Stevens, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, surrounded by her family. Linda was born on April 1, 1959, to Theodore “Ted” Maguran and Mary Piasecki of Birmingham, Michigan.

Linda and Kevin Stevens were married on June 23, 1984, in Royal Oak, Michigan. In 1992, they moved to Plano, Texas where they cultivated roots and started a family. Linda was a devoted wife and a loving mother. Linda prided herself on maintaining a pristine home, particularly her kitchen, and always had homemade goods available for hungry guests. She enjoyed baking, gardening, exercising, and holiday decorating. Linda treasured antiques, as well as collectible bears and dolls. Her talent on the piano was a gift to witness.

After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oakland University in Michigan, Linda built a successful accounting career that spanned several decades.

Linda portrayed strong values of serving others and giving back to the community. The entire family often spent Sunday mornings feeding the homeless in downtown Dallas, Texas. Linda placed immense value on education and dedicated her life to providing her three children with the best possible education. Christopher, Madison, and Jonathan attended Bishop Lynch High School, the University of Texas at Dallas, and have gone on to pursue graduate degrees in their respective fields. Linda was a prime example of the values she instilled within her family, those of humility, compassion, integrity, empathy, resiliency, and determination.

She refused to be defined by her illness and instead, continued to work hard and be an inspiration to those around her. Above all else, Linda loved her family. Mother, Wife, and Best Friend, Linda was a light in our lives that can never be replaced. Although her absence is deeply felt by all, we find peace in the knowledge that she can now rest.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Kevin John Stevens, her three children, Christopher John Stevens, Madison Elizabeth Stevens, and Jonathan Michael Stevens, as well as her “sister”, friend, and godmother to her children, Polly Ann Stallings.  Linda was preceded in death by her father, Theodore “Ted” Maguran, and her mother, Mary Maguran, of Birmingham, Michigan.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75220.
