Linda Ann Severtson

August 21, 1937 — February 14, 2019

Linda Ann (Harper) Severtson, age 81, passed away on February 14, 2019, in Plano, Texas. She was born on August 21, 1937 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to William Carl and Hattie Myrtle Harper.

She grew up in Vicksburg, but eventually found herself in Dallas where she was based as a stewardess for American Airlines. She loved her time flying and had many adventurous stories to tell from those days. She raised her daughter, Mindy, in McKinney, where she worked as a realtor, librarian, and did several other jobs before going to work at the dental office of Terry Walden, DDS, where she worked until she retired in 2008. The last 20 years of her life were lived in Plano with her late husband, Rock, and then at Silverado Senior Living.

Linda lived life to the fullest. She was loving, forgiving, compassionate, and boisterous. She never met a stranger, and would gladly give them the shirt off her back. She also might tell them where to put it if they crossed her, but that was her charm. She was adored wherever she went, because her heart was so big, and her wit so sharp. Animals and nature were her passion, and she loved feeding her birds, planting flowers and gardening. In fact, she could take on any naturalist in her knowledge of birds and plant life. She also was a fabulous cook and loved cooking and baking for others.

She would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was her daughter, Mindy. She sacrificed and dedicated her time to hauling horses to horse shows and running Mindy and her friends to sporting events. In her later years, she adored caring for and watching her grandsons. Family meant the world to her.

Even in her last days, when Alzheimer’s took over, her amazing personality and charm were evident. She was adored and a favorite at Silverado Senior Living, typical Linda. The glimmers of the great lady that she was could not be squelched by a disease.

The family would like to particularly thank the staff and caregivers of Silverado, for their amazing love and care of Linda for so many years. She flourished in your care.

She is survived by her daughter, Mindy Redard, son-in-law Matt, and grandsons, Jackson and Noah, along with step-daughters Diana Lee, Brooke Severtson, Crystal Severtson, and Amber Clark, and many dear family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings: Lucille Goleman, Rip Harper, Carlisle Harper, Jack Harper, Doris Harper, Jean Brown, Janice Housewright and Patsy Tinsley; Husbands John Lavoie and Rock Severtson.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas.  A funeral to celebrate Linda's life will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options.  Linda will be laid to rest with her husband Rock at Wear Cemetery, Prosper, Texas.
