Linda (Lenny) Susana Keralla passed away quite unexpectedly at home Thursday morning April 23, , 2020 at the age of sixty-eight.
She is predeceased by her father Tim Vickers, her mother Thelma Vickers and her youngest brother Randy Vickers, who died at the age of nine from a congenital heart disease.
Lenny is survived by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Marc Keralla. They were married in Carrollton, Texas on July 21, 1981.
Lenny is survived by her daughter Crystal Sandlin Crews and son-in-law Lewis Crews of Brigham City, Utah; son Timothy Sandlin of Sioux City, Iowa; granddaughters Victoria Crews of Auburn, Alabama and Olivia Crews of Birmingham, Alabama; brothers Tommy Vickers and wife Bobbi of Prospect, Tennessee; Mark Vickers and wife Loraine of Athens, Alabama and sister Sharon Wade of Galveston, Texas.
She was born in Athens, Alabama in 1951 and lived a wonderful, fulfilling life. In her early twenty’s Lenny spent time singing with the rock band Dr. Hook, which showcased her beautiful voice. Lenny had a successful career as a respiratory therapist before she married Marc, and because of that training she understood more about the pandemic breathing issues than most of us. She enjoyed traveling and experiencing the sights, sounds and food she discovered, but above all she loved being with her family. Lenny was so excited about Lewis’ recent promotion and their move to Brigham City, Utah and only days earlier was Facetiming with Crystal and talking about coming to visit their new home as soon as the pandemic receded.
Lenny was such a warm and caring woman who never met a stranger and made friends so easily. She was comfortable talking to anybody. Lenny had a big heart and opened it to all! Waiting in line at any checkout counter she would sincerely compliment a patron about their blouse, or nail color or of course their hand bag! She loved hand bags! By the time they checked out, you would have thought they were lifelong friends. Lenny loved animals and seemed to be always rescuing strays, and they seemed to show up at the house sensing they’d be safe there. She especially enjoyed spending time working with Marc in the garden. She had unique, colorful knickknack garden animals placed strategically throughout the garden.
Lenny will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who were blessed to know her.
