Linda Howard

July 8, 1952 — July 27, 2018

On July 27, 2018, Linda Fordyce Howard passed from this earth from the effects of a stroke and other complications. Born in Linz, Austria to American parents stationed overseas, she was a self-described “Army Brat”, spending most of her childhood and adolescence around various military bases in this country, Canada, and Europe.  Linda graduated from San Pedro High School, San Pedro, California and El Paso Community College, El Paso, Texas, where she majored in sign language.  Prior to the birth of her daughter Laura, she worked as an interpreter for the deaf in El Paso and Lubbock, Texas.  Linda was a member of Stonebriar Community Church, Frisco, Texas for several years, where she served in the choir and the Special Needs ministry.

Predeceasing Linda were her parents Marvin and June Dedrick Fordyce, El Paso, Texas. She is survived by her husband Nicholas Howard, Dallas, Texas; her daughters and sons-in-law Rebecca and Jerry Maples, Addison, Texas and Laura and Dustin Helms, Dallas, Texas; her son Thomas Howard, Dallas, Texas; her brother and sister in law Richard and Kelli Fordyce, El Paso, Texas and her sister-in-law Deidre Howard, Hagerstown, Maryland.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Stonebriar Community Church, 4801 Legendary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75034.

In lieu of flowers, the family request’s memorials be made in Linda’s memory to The Gideons International, Dallas North Camp, P.O. Box 113355, Carrollton, Texas 75011, or Joni and Friends Texas, 2001 W. Plano Pkwy, #2060, Plano, Texas 75075.
