“Her children shall rise up and call her blessed” ~ Proverbs 31:28
Linda Faye Howard was born October 10, 1941 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She went to rejoice with her Heavenly Father on May 6, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.
Nannie, Nannie Bands, Mom, Momma, Linda, Linda Faye, Linder, Sister, Aunt….and Friend. She had many names and was loved by many more. Linda was a Godly woman who loved to study the Bible and attend Bible conferences with her church family, who were an important part of her life. She was a jack of all trades who could sing, play the mandolin, and even taught herself to play guitar. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Scrabble and 42 as well as read books from her extensive library, including books by her favorite author, Charles Spurgeon. She loved her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren fiercely and was known for sending her grand and great grandchildren a $2 bill every year for their birthday. She was often found wearing the tires out on her car travelling back and forth to North Texas to see her family. Linda was always involved in some type of ministry whether it be visiting with people, praying with them, or cooking for them. She loved to cook and was really proud that almost all 4 of her daughters loved it too. She was a beautiful woman who loved wearing hats and was always fashionable, even if she wasn’t going anywhere. Her inner beauty was ever present externally as she was always there for people no matter what and was so great at making others feel good about themselves. She was an avid shopper who loved going to thrift stores and estate sales. Most of all she was a beautiful, Godly woman whose relationship with the Lord brings much comfort to her family and friends who look forward to seeing her again one day.
Linda is survived by her daughters; Tina Schoellman of Allen, Texas; Rhoda Martin of Dublin, Ohio; Bethany Pitts of Addison, Texas, Rachel Pitts and John of Princeton, Texas. Along with her daughters are 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Tommy Criswell of Pasadena, Texas and leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Oliver Criswell, her Stepdad Thomas Allen, her mother Leoda Mae Criswell and her brother, Ronnie Criswell.
