Leslie Thomas Kambarami was born June 25, 1946 in Zimbabwe to parents Timothy Chamunorwa Kambarami and Amelia Muswe Kambarami. He passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Plano, Texas. He was a graduate of Berea College in Berea, Kentucky where he received his degree in Arts Administration. While attending the university, Leslie enjoyed playing on the soccer team. He was a longtime resident of Indianapolis, where he and his former wife, Cheryl, raised their two daughters, Nicole and Kim.
Leslie was born into a farming family. While growing up, he developed a passion for gardening. He enjoyed growing his own fruits and vegetables, which he did until the end of his life. He also had an avid love for music. He not only played numerous musical instruments, but enjoyed writing music and singing, as well. When football season came around, you would find Leslie rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers! As a health conscious man, he rode his bike for two hours while maintaining a strict diet. Professionally, Leslie worked several years in automotive manufacturing management.
He is survived by his daughters, Lesley Charles (Richard) and Kimberly Kambarami, his mother, Amelia Kambarami, brothers, Bobby Kambarami, Sharpie Kambarami, Timothy Kambarami, Kennedy Kambarami, and a sister, Beulah Kambarami. He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother Barnabus Kambarami.
Leslie will be remembered as a man who strove for perfection in every pursuit, He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A visitation for Leslie will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Allen Family Funeral Options. A service to honor Leslie will begin at 11:00 at the funeral home.
