Lee Allen Rhoades

May 9, 1966 — August 19, 2025

Plano

Lee Allen Rhoades was born May 9, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio to parents Jack D and Judith L (Wellbaum) Rhoades.

He was a proud graduate of Troy High School, where he excelled academically and graduated as Salutatorian.

He went on to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) fraternity. It was during his time at Miami that he met the love of his life, Marianne, who would become his best friend and wife for 32 years.

After graduation, Lee began his professional career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where he dedicated 37 years of service and worked through many acquisitions, with the final one being DXC Technology. While advancing in his career, he continued his education and earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Lee and Marianne made their home in Plano, Texas where he was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church. They raised two daughters and built a lifetime of memories with friends.

Traveling held many special memories including beach trips with the extended Rhoades family, and trips with his college friends following sports teams and favorite bands. On his birthday this year, he experienced a true highlight - three-night run of Dead and Company concerts at the Sphere in Las Vegas, an experience he treasured.

He will be remembered fondly for his unique joy in watching sports, reading a book, and listening to music all at once—but most of all, for the deep love he had for his family.

Lee is survived by his loving wife Marianne Rhoades; daughters Mackenzie Filer and her husband Benjamin and Natalie Rhoades; Lee’s first grandbaby is to be born in January 2026; siblings Holly Saylor and her husband Mike and Rob Rhoades and his wife Aleth; sister in law Brigitte Rhoades; father and mother in law Bob and Sandy DelQuadri; nieces and nephews Sarah, Kelly and Emily Rhoades, Morgan, Katy and Maddie Saylor and Jack, Eli and Lee Rhoades. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mike Rhoades.

There will be a celebration of Lee’s life at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Christ United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, if desired, contributions may be made in Lee’s name to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society | Blood Cancer Leaders | LLS at: https://www.lls.org/ or Christ United Methodist Church for Generations Capital Campaign at: https://cumc.com/GIVE/
