Lars Severine Fredriksen (Larry) age 80, passed peacefully into life eternal at his home in Plano, Texas on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 with his loving daughters at his side. Larry was diagnosed with end stage esophageal cancer at the beginning of the year and put up a valiant fight to the end. The family will host a celebration of Larry's life on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 1:00 - 3:00PM at Allen Family Funeral Options.
Larry was born on November 23, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to Lars T. Fredriksen and Elizabeth Reid Fredriksen. After college, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army.
After his military service, Larry met the love of his life, Stella Georges and they were married on April 23, 1967. The couple welcomed twin girls, Tara Lee and Tamara Ann in 1972. They moved from Long Island, New York to Texas in 1977 and a third daughter, Tawnie Lynn joined the family in 1985.
Larry was a skilled woodworker and an award winning kitchen designer. He owned his own custom kitchen design and remodeling business from 1979-1996. He went on to spend the last 15 years of his career working in different sales and management positions at Ray Huffines Chevrolet in Plano before retiring in 2014 to care for Stella’s advancing Alzheimer’s.
Larry was a forever optimist. He never met a stranger and was always the first to tell a joke or offer a smile to someone who needed it. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Pop Pop.
Larry was preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Stella Frediksen and his parents Lars T. Fredriksen and Elizabeth Reid Fredriksen. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Dorothy Fredriksen, daughters and sons-in-law Tara Norton-Loyd and Matt Loyd, Tamara Fredriksen, Tawnie and Ryan Krueger, grandchildren Katie Pipes, Felix Norton, Cameron Loyd, Robert and Denver Krueger, great-grandsons Wyatt and Ryder Bradford and many nieces and nephews.
