Konstantinos "Gus" Koroneos

February 18, 1950 — October 5, 2022

Konstantinos “Gus” Koroneos, age 72, of Parker, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.  He was born in Athens, Greece on February 18, 1950.

At age 16, he moved with his family to the United States where they settled in Chicago, Illinois.  He worked in the restaurant industry and eventually opened his own restaurant.

In his early 20’s, Gus married his first wife, Mary Baran, and they had his first son, Tom.  After his divorce, Gus went on vacation to Greece where he met and married his current wife, Anna Petsalakis.  They lived in Chicago until the early eighties.

They moved to Plano, Texas, where his second son, John, was born.  Gus began a new career in the automotive industry.  He was a hard worker. He eventually opened his own shop, known to patrons as Gus’s Car Care, which is now operated by both his sons.

He built a steadfast life with family and friends across his decades in Texas.  He was known for his dry sense of humor.  Gus retired in 2018, and that allowed him the opportunity to travel back and forth to his homeland with Anna.  He played golf, more in his retirement, enjoying the game of golf immensely. He will be missed dearly by family and friends.

Gus is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Anna Koroneos; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Stephanie Koroneos; son, John Koroneos; granddaughter, Samantha Koroneos, and by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Athanasios Koroneos, his mother, Panagiota Koroneos, and his brother Theodore Koroneos.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 10, 2022, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Rd, Dallas, Texas.  Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.npcf.us (pancreatic cancer research) or Saint Barbara’s Philoptochos ministry at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
